Apex University Inaugurates Seven-Day NSS Special Camp
Apex University inaugurated a Seven-Day National Service Scheme (NSS) Special Camp, marking the beginning of a series of activities aimed at promoting social responsibility, leadership, and community engagement among students. The inauguration ceremony was organized in the university campus with great enthusiasm and participation from NSS volunteers, faculty members, and distinguished guests.
The program was chaired by Prof. Veena Chhangani, Dean – Humanities & Arts, who addressed the gathering and encouraged students to actively participate in social service initiatives. The event was graced by Shri Dinesh Gupta, Statistical Officer at the SLO Secretariat, who attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest. The program commenced with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing the spread of knowledge, positivity, and a commitment to service.

While addressing the NSS volunteers, Prof. Veena Chhangani highlighted the importance and objectives of the National Service Scheme. She emphasized that NSS is not only a program but also a platform that nurtures values of compassion, responsibility, and leadership among students. She encouraged the volunteers to imbibe the spirit of the NSS motto “Not Me, But You” in their daily lives and contribute selflessly to society. She further stated that society is built by individuals, and meaningful progress can only be achieved when people think beyond their personal interests and work for the welfare of others.
The Chief Guest, Shri Dinesh Gupta, shared valuable insights with the students about opportunities available through NSS, including Pre-Republic Day (Pre-RD) and Republic Day (RD) Camps. He encouraged the volunteers to make the most of the seven-day camp by actively participating in all activities and maintaining a daily diary to record their experiences, learning, and the positive impact they create in society through their actions and behavior.
During the ceremony, Dr. Neelam presented the detailed outline and schedule of the upcoming activities planned for the seven-day camp. The camp will include a variety of programs such as community awareness drives, social outreach activities, cleanliness campaigns, health awareness initiatives, and personality development sessions for the volunteers. These activities are designed to help students develop a deeper understanding of social issues and encourage them to work collaboratively for the welfare of the community.

The event was also attended by Dr. Devendra Singh Faujdar, Dean of Science, and NSS Programme Officer Shri Sunil Sharma, along with other faculty members and NSS volunteers. Their presence added encouragement and support to the volunteers who are participating in the camp.
